Ross McCabeFor the past 20 years, Ross has focused his career on improving Medicaid and Medicare programs across America.
After graduating from a joint MHA/MBA degree program, he chose to learn how employers sponsor health care in the U.S. through a position at John Deere Health (now UnitedHealthcare Community & State) in Iowa. During his tenure with Deere & Company, he negotiated fee-for-service and value-based contracts with physician practices, hospital systems, and independent practice associations in northeast Iowa + central Wisconsin. Also, he led health care process improvement teams to improve customer satisfaction through more efficient workflows.
To move closer to family, Ross joined Amerigroup (now Elevance Health) based in Virginia in 2003. As a member of the management team, he worked in business development and health plan operations roles to serve children, adolescents, pregnant women as well as aged, blind, and disabled persons. He participated in the launch and ongoing operations of Amerigroup’s New Mexico health plan to stand-up a new statewide program to serve persons eligible for long term services and supports.
To allow for more time with his young family in Florida, Ross transitioned to a consulting role. During this time, he accepted a leadership position with Optimetra, a boutique consulting firm, to support health plans serving public sponsored health care programs. The effects of the COVID-19 epidemic had a profound impact on Ross. He has since decided to dedicate his time to independent consulting to improve outcomes assisting physician practice leaders and hospital administrators.
